原思在孔子家任总管，孔子给他俸米九百，原思推辞不受。孔子说：“不要推辞！有多余就接济你的乡邻吧！”

【English Translation】
Yuan Si1 served as the household official at Confucius’s home. Confucius gave him nine hundred buckets millet, but Yuan Si declined to accept it. Confucius said: “Don’t refuse it! If there is surplus, you may give it to your neighbors!”
