15.25 子曰：“吾之于人也，谁毁谁誉？如有所誉者，其有所试矣。斯民也，三代之所以直道而行也。”
【译文】
孔子说：“我对于别人，诋毁了谁？赞誉了谁？如果有我赞誉的人，必定是经过实际考察的。现在这些百姓呀，也就是夏、商、周三代以直道行施天下时的百姓啊。”

孔子说：“我对于别人，没有诽谤或过誉。如果有我赞誉的人，必定是用事实考验过的。夏、商、周三代的古人都是如此，所以能不私曲而直道而行。”
【English Translation】
Confucius said: “I do not slander or overpraise others. If there is someone I praise, it must be someone who has been tested with facts. The ancients of the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties were all like this, so they could act justly without partiality.”
