3.5　子曰：“夷狄之有君¹，不如诸夏之亡也²。”

【译文】

孔子说：“夷狄虽有君主，还不如中原各国没有君主。”

【English Translation】

Confucius said: “Although the barbarians³ have monarchs, they are still not as good as the vassal states in the Central Plains which do not have monarchs.”
