1.14 子曰：“君子食无求饱，居无求安，敏于事而慎于言，就有道而正焉，可谓好学也已。”
【译文】
孔子说：“君子饮食不求饱足，居住不求安适，行事勤敏而言语谨慎，能到有道的人那里辨正是非，这可说是好学的了。”

孔子说：“君子对于饮食不求饱足，对于居住不求安适，行事勤奋敏捷且言语谨慎，能到有道之人那里去明辨是非，这就算是好学的了。”

Confucius said: “A noble person pursues neither to be satisfied with food, nor to be comfortable in residence; He acts diligently and swiftly and speaks cautiously; He makes himself more sensible to affairs by following a master with the Way. By doing so, he can be considered studious.”
