9.14 子欲居九夷1。或曰：“陋，如之何？”子曰：“君子居之，何陋之有？”
【译文】
孔子想到九夷去居住。有人说：“那里非常鄙陋，怎么能住？”孔子说：“有君子去住了，哪里还会鄙陋呢？”

孔子想到九夷去居住。有人说：“那里非常鄙陋无礼义的，怎么能住？”孔子说：“有君子去住了，怎么还会让这个地方鄙陋呢？”
【English Translation】
Confucius wanted to live in Jiu Yi. Some people said: “That place is very uncivilized, how can you live there?” Confucius said: “If a noble man goes to live there, how can this place still be uncivilized?”
