15.17 子曰：“群居终日，言不及义，好行小慧，难矣哉！”

孔子说：“与人聚集一整天，所谈论的却没有涉及道义的事，只喜欢卖弄小聪明，这就难以长进了。”

孔子说：“与人聚集一整天，所谈论的却没有涉及道义的事，只喜欢卖弄小聪明，戏谑、侥幸行事，这就难以修习德行，且有患害之处。”
【English Translation】
Confucius said: “If one spends a whole day with people yet does not talk about anything of virtue, but only likes to play petty tricks, banter with others, and act by chance, it would be difficult to cultivate virtue, and it would be harmful to him.”
