雍也篇 6.11

6.11　子曰：“贤哉，回也！一箪食¹，一瓢饮，在陋巷，人不堪其忧，回也不改其乐。贤哉，回也！”

【译文】

孔子说：“颜回多么有修养啊！一箪饭，一瓢水，住在简陋的小巷，别人受不了这种穷困的忧苦，颜回却不改变他的快乐。颜回多么有修养啊！”

孔子说：“颜回多么有修养啊！一箪饭，一瓢水，住在简陋的小巷，别人受不了这种身处穷困的忧苦，颜回却不改变他的欢喜。颜回真是贤德之人啊！”

【English Translation】

Confucius said: “How cultivated Yan Hui¹ is! He lives in a humble alley, only taking a bowl of rice and a ladle of water. Anyone else cannot endure such poverty and misery of life, whereas Yan Hui has never changed his joyfulness. Yan Hui is truly a virtuous person!”
