4.14 子曰：“不患无位，患所以立。不患莫己知，求为可知也。”
【译文】
孔子说：“不要愁没有职位，而应愁自己用什么胜任其位。不要愁没有人知道自己，而应求自己能有什么可以使人知道的。”

孔子说：“不要愁得不到职位，该愁自己用什么才能胜任此位。不要愁没人知道自己，该求自己有什么可为人知道。”

Confucius said: “Don’t worry about failing to get an official position, you should worry about what abilities you have to be competent for this position. Don’t worry about that no one knows you, you should think about what you have can be known by others.”
