9.16 子曰：“出则事公卿，入则事父兄，丧事不敢不勉，不为酒困，何有于我哉？”
【译文】
孔子说：“在外事奉公卿，在家事奉父兄，对丧事不敢不尽力去办，不要被酒困扰，这些事对于我有什么困难呢？”

孔子说：“在外事奉公卿，在家事奉父兄，对丧事不敢不尽力去办，不被酒困扰，始终保持清醒，这些自然应做之事对于我有什么困难呢？”
【English Translation】
Confucius said: “I serve the government officials when outside of home, and serve my father and elder brother at home. I do not dare not to do my best for funeral affairs. In addition, I am not troubled by wine and always keep sober. What the difficulties for me to do these natural things?”
