6.2 仲弓问子桑伯子1。子曰：“可也，简。”仲弓曰：“居敬而行简，以临其民，不亦可乎？居简而行简，无乃大简乎？”子曰：“雍之言然。”
【译文】
仲弓问到子桑伯子这个人。孔子说：“可以啊，他做事简单。” 仲弓说：“如果内心严肃认真，而行事则简单，这样来治理百姓，不也可以吗？如果是内心疏简而又行事简单，这不就太简单了吗？” 孔子说：“雍说得对。”

仲弓向孔子请教子桑伯子这个人怎么样。孔子说：“可以啊，他做事自然、简单。” 仲弓说：“如果内心郑重谨慎，而行事则简单，这样来治理百姓，不也可以吗？如果是内心疏简而又行事简单，这不就太简单了吗？” 孔子说：“雍（仲弓）说得对。”
【English Translation】
Zhong Gong asked Confucius about Zi Sang Bo Zi1, Confucius said: “Not bad, he acts naturally and simply.”
Zhong Gong said: “If a person is solemn and prudent in his mind and simple in the action, it is good to govern the civilian. Whereas if a person is simple both in the mind and in the action, it would be too simple.”
Confucius said: “You are right.”
