【English Translation】

Zi Lu1 said: “Does a noble person advocate bravery?” Confucius said: “What a noble person most advocates is righteousness. If there is something in line with righteousness, he will do it. If not, he will not do it. A person in an official position who has only bravery but no righteousness will rebel against authority and create chaos. A person of low status who has only bravery but no righteousness will become the person like thief.”
