17.20 孺悲欲见孔子1，孔子辞以疾。将命者出户，取瑟而歌，使之闻之。

孺悲想见孔子，孔子以生病为由拒绝了。待传话的人刚走出门，孔子就取瑟边弹边唱，故意使孺悲听到。

【English Translation】
Ru Bei wanted to see Confucius, but Confucius refused him with the reason of illness. When the messenger just left, Confucius played the zither while singing, intending to let Ru Bei hear it and learn from it.
