4.2 子曰：“不仁者不可以久处约1，不可以长处乐。仁者安仁，知者利仁。”
【译文】
孔子说：“不仁之人不能长久处在穷困之中，也不能长久处在安乐之中。有仁德的人安于仁道，聪明的人知道行仁道有利于己。”

【English Translation】
Confucius said: “The people without benevolence neither can live in poverty for long nor can live in peace and happiness for long. Whereas the people with benevolence would comply with the Way of benevolence, and the wise people know it is beneficial to theirselves to be benevolent.”
