14.9 或问子产。子曰：“惠人也。” 问子西1。曰：“彼哉！彼哉！” 问管仲。曰：“人也2。夺伯氏骈邑三百3，饭疏食，没齿无怨言4。”
【译文】
有人问孔子子产是怎样的人。孔子说：“他是个宽厚慈惠的人。” 又问到子西。孔子说：“他呀！他呀！” 又问到管仲。孔子说：“这是个仁人啊。他剥夺了伯氏骈邑三百户的封地，使伯氏只能吃粗劣的饭食，但伯氏至死也没有怨言。”

有人问孔子子产是怎样的人。孔子说：“他是对人民有惠爱之心的人。” 又问到子西。孔子说：“他！他啊！” 又问到管仲。孔子说：“此人，齐桓公夺了伯氏骈邑三百户的封地而转封给管仲，使伯氏只能吃粗劣的饭食，但伯氏至死也没有怨言。”
【English Translation】
Someone asked Confucius what kind of person Zi Chan was. Confucius said: “He is a person who has a heart of kindness and love for the people.”
When they asked about Zi Xi, Confucius said: “Oh, he! He!”
When they asked about Guan Zhong1, Confucius said: “As for this man, Duke Huan of Qi took away Bo Shi’s fief of 300 households in Pian county and transferred it to Guan Zhong2, which made Bo Shi only eat coarse food, but Bo Shi did not complain about it until death.”
