14.31 子曰：“不逆诈1，不亿不信2，抑亦先觉者3，是贤乎！”
【译文】
孔子说：“不预先怀疑别人有欺诈，不无端猜测别人没有诚信，但也能及早察觉真相，这样的人是贤者了吧！”

孔子说：“不事先揣测别人是否有欺诈，不凭空臆想别人没有诚信，以开放的心态对待他人，但也能及时察觉真相，这样的人就是贤者了！”
【English Translation】
Confucius said: “If a person does not speculate in advance whether others are deceitful, and does not assume without basis that others are not trustworthy, but treats others with an open mind and is able to detect the truth in time, such a person is a sage!”
