13.8 子谓卫公子荆1：“善居室。始有，曰：‘苟合矣2。’少有，曰：‘苟完矣。’富有，曰：‘苟美矣。’”
【译文】
孔子谈到卫国的公子荆，说：“他善于处理家业。刚有一点儿财产，他就说：‘差不多够了。’稍微增加一点儿财产，他说：‘差不多全备了。’再多一点儿财产，他说：‘差不多是完美了。’”

孔子谈到卫国的公子荆，说：“他善于处理家业。刚有一点儿财产，他就说：‘差不多够了。’再宽裕一点儿时，他说：‘差不多完备无缺了。’后来家境富有了，他说：‘简直是太风光了。’”
【English Translation】
Speaking of Jing, the minister of the State of Wei, Confucius said: “He was good at handling his family business. When he had just a little wealth, he said: ‘It is almost enough.’ When he was a little richer, he said: ‘It is almost complete.’ Later, when the family became wealthy, he said: ‘It’s really too glorious.‘”
