15.42 师冕见1，及阶，子曰：“阶也。”及席，子曰：“席也。” 皆坐，子告之曰：“某在斯，某在斯。” 师冕出，子张问曰：“与师言之道与？” 子曰：“然，固相师之道也。”
【译文】
师冕来见孔子，走到台阶边，孔子说：“这是台阶了。” 走到坐席旁，孔子说：“这是坐席了。” 都坐下后，孔子告诉他说：“某人在这边，某人在这边。” 师冕辞别后，子张问道：“这是与盲乐师谈话的方式吗？” 孔子说：“对，这本来就是帮助盲乐师的方式。”

盲人乐师冕来见孔子，走到台阶边，孔子说：“这是台阶了。” 走到坐席旁，孔子说：“这是坐席了。” 都坐下后，孔子告诉他说：“某人在这边，某人在那边。” 乐师冕辞别后，子张问道：“老师对盲人乐师照顾如此细致周到，这就是与盲人乐师交往之道吗？” 孔子说：“对，这就是帮助盲人乐师的方式。”
1师：乐师。古代乐师一般由盲人担任。冕：人名。
【English Translation】
A blind musician, Mian, came to see Confucius. When he reached the steps, Confucius said: “This is the step.” When he reached the seat, Confucius said: “This is the seat.” After they both sat down, Confucius told him who is over here, and who is over there. After Mian left, Zi Zhang1 asked: “The teacher takes such good care of the blind musician. Is this the Way to associate with blind musicians?” Confucius said: “Yes, this is the Way to help the blind musician.”
