15.24 子贡问曰：“有一言而可以终身行之者乎1？”子曰：“其恕乎！己所不欲，勿施于人。”
【译文】
子贡问道：“有没有一个字是可以终身遵循的？”孔子说：“大概就是‘恕’吧！自己不愿意的事情，不要施加于别人。”

子贡请教：“有没有一句话可以作为终身遵循的原则呢？”孔子说：“那就是‘恕道’吧！自己不愿意的事情，不要施加于别人。”
【English Translation】
Zi Gong1 asked Confucius: “Is there a sentence that can be followed as a principle for a lifetime?” Confucius said: “It may be the ‘doctrine of forgiveness’! Don’t impose on others what you don’t want for yourself.”
