5.22 子在陈1，曰：“归与！归与！吾党之小子狂简2，斐然成章3，不知所以裁之4。”

孔子在陈国，说：“回去吧！回去吧！我家乡的那些学生怀有远大志向，文采斐然可观，我不知怎样去造就他们。”

孔子在陈国，说：“回去吧！回去吧！我家乡的那些学生虽然怀有远大志向，但做事不够谦卑戒慎，文采虽然斐然可观，却不知道如何裁取使其中正。”
【English Translation】
In the State of Chen, Confucius said: “I’ll return to my hometown. Although my students in my hometown are ambitious, they are not humble and prudent in their behavior. Although their literary talent is good, they do not know how to refine it to be righteous.”
