Nan Rong¹ repeatedly chanted the poem about Bai Gui², and Confucius married his niece to him.

1. 白圭：白玉制的礼器。这里指《诗经·大雅·抑》中关于白圭的诗句：“白圭之玷，尚可磨也。斯言之玷，不可为也。”意谓白圭上的污点尚可磨去，但言语中的错误无法去掉。 ↩ ↩²

2. Bai Gui (白圭): A ceremonial vessel made of white jade. Here refers to the poem about Bai Gui in “Book of Songs”: “The flaw in Bai Gui can be polished, but the flaw of people’s words cannot be removed.” ↩
