先进篇 11.15

11.15　子曰：“由之瑟奚为于丘之门¹？”门人不敬子路。子曰：“由也升堂矣²，未入于室也³。”

【译文】

孔子说：“仲由为什么要到我这里来弹瑟呢？”于是学生们不尊重子路。孔子解释说：“仲由的学问已经登入堂中，只是还没有入室罢了。”

孔子说：“仲由这样弹瑟怎能算是我的门人呢？”于是学生们不尊重子路了。孔子说：“仲由的学问已经登入堂中，只是还没有入室罢了。”

【English Translation】

Confucius said: “How can Zhong You (Zi Lu)¹ be my student while playing the Se² like this?” As a result, the students did not respect Zi Lu anymore. Confucius said: “Zhong You‘s (Zi Lu) learning has entered the hall, but it has not yet entered the room³.”
