10.1　孔子于乡党，恂恂如也¹，似不能言者。其在宗庙朝廷，便便言²，唯谨尔。

【English Translation】

Confucius appeared gentle and respectful in his hometown, as if he were not good at speaking. In the ancestral temple and imperial court, he spoke clearly and coherently, but meanwhile he was very prudent.
